The Next Public Meeting: Thursday, October 25th, at 6:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room.
On August 20th the Saratoga Board of Education voted to place a referendum question on the November 6, 2018 ballot to fund a building addition and to repurpose some of the oldest areas of the existing school. This project completes the building concepts of the 2006 Master Facility Plan. The total amount of bonds to be issued for this project is $10.3 million dollars.
We expect there to be no increase to property taxes as a result of this project. The timing of this referendum coincides with an improvement project at Akzo Nobel and the addition of the Costco Meat Processing Plant to the Saratoga School tax base. Because of the additional revenue that will be generated as a result of this new tax base, we do not need to ask for taxpayers to pay additional taxes to Saratoga School. We appreciate the support that we currently have from our taxpayers and are happy to inform taxpayers that we expect there to be no increase in taxes as a result of this project.
